A guardian born in stone.
The Yali (யாளி, also called Vyala) is the mythical guardian of South Indian temples: a lion's body, an elephant's trunk and tusks, and a serpent's tail. It stands at temple gateways and on the pillars of great halls, keeping watch over everything that enters.
- Sangam era
Ancient Tamil poetry speaks of the Yāḷi, a fearless creature.
- Temple gateways
Carved at entrances and on walls to protect the temple and all who enter.
- 16th century
Under the Vijayanagara and Nayak rulers, rearing Yali pillars line the great halls of Hampi and Madurai.
- Today
The same promise, for your enterprise: the right people in, everyone else kept out.
Same guardian. New temple.
Our logo is drawn from the temple carvings: the curled crest, the open jaw, the coiled tail. And each part of the old guardian has a job in the new one.
